Tim Mabin-Jimmy Jam

Having researched the origins of the artist and track it transpires that the initial release saw the light of day in 1984. Because of the fact that Tim was forced to work with a limited budget, he only could afford to press 500 copies many of which didn't make it out of the US.

DJ folklore has it that Jimmy Jam turned into a crate diggers special with copies exchanging hands for up to $1oo back in the States due to it's somewhat limited availability.

Originally pressed on the Sapphire imprint the tune has been re-issued on Dutch label 4lux who always seem to come up with a quality release now and again.

It's great to think that such a cool track made by someone like Tim who was clearly on a tight budget would see the light of day more than twenty years down the line.

Can't help thinking what would of happened if Beatport was around in Tim's day.
