Before electro-funk, which many acknowledge as the music that was the initial building block in relation to todays multi-genre dance music scene, there was a dance music style that was termed "Boogie"
As the candle lit slightly less brightly on the disco scene here in this country, Boogie on the Black Music scene acted as a continuation of the music that bridged the gap between disco and electro-funk, the later being the musical jump start for the house, techno and acid house scenes in the early 80's
