A Kenny Dope 15 Minute Remix
Olli Ahvenlahti-Grandma’s Rocking Chair
(Kenny Dope Remix)
This is a beast of a track to be honest, coming in at 15 minutes and 48 seconds long, KD's effort has to be right up there with the likes of Patrick Cowley's remix of "I Feel Love" in regards to remixes that you get your money's worth from.
Starting off with the voice of Ol’ Dirty then continuing along it’s way as a big old dance floor percussive freak out with an underlying sped up jazzy Hip Hop come Broken Beat flavor.
For the DJs:
If your dance floor isn’t too much in a rush and you reckon people would appreciate something a little different that is slightly more jazzier and percussion lead then try this, guaranteed at least one person will ask what it is.
For the listener:
The main body of the track happens about a third of the way in when the ancillary instruments of the original cut are stripped back leaving a mammoth percussion section which seems to go on for days.
Just when you think you can’t take anymore "BANG" back comes the voice of Ol’ Dirty signaling the return of the feel from the first 5 minutes as the percussion gets scratched out and once again you feel like you can breathe.
This has been played out a few times in Brighton recently and always gets a good response, Grandma’s Rocking Chair comes highly recommended if you’re the sort of person that likes things a little off center or you're a DJ that has got some balls when selecting.
File this under “quality dance floor percussion music” for your head and your feet.
