Slack Edits Series

Finally given in and started work on our Slack Edits Series project

Just simple stuff with the focus on selecting some great music first and foremost whilst not trying to butcher to death the original versions

Here's Slack Edits #1 which is downloadable for a limited amount of time if you want a copy

Beachdown Festival 2009

If you're coming to this, Affy and Ali from GBB will be playing on the first day of the festivities from 4-7pm in the main bar area aptly entitled The Beach Bar (3 hours in the on site boozer, nice booking)

The Festival runs for four days over the last weekend in August and features some fairly impressive djs and live acts as well as some of Brighton's favorite club nights and underground party crews/djs dotted about the place.

It looks like Beachdown are gearing the event towards a less commercial festival crowd again this year with an expected 10,000 strong audience being treated to some major performers and dj's including Grace Jones, Laurent Garnier (Live) Grandmaster Flash, Derrick May and A Guy Called Gerald amongst those fronting the dance line up this year.

Also a must is The Dub House Disco project which features Greg Wilson, Weirdo Police, Kathy Diamond and The Soft Rocks boys. Not sure when or where on site this is yet but expect this to be a really popular part of Beachdown that's definitely not to be missed this year if you're up at Devils Dyke in August.

The key performance areas include

Main Stage
Stage Two
Concorde 2 Brighton Band Stage
Radio Reverb / Access to Music New Talent Arena
Electronic Arts Arena
Favela Chic Arena of Stupidity
Jah Shaka Dub Shack
Beach Bar
The Bus Stop
Cabaret / Comedy Tent

Looking forward to catching all of the above and more besides plus local players Deep Systems, The Balearic Juke Box, Kliks and Return Of The Funky Man at some stage over the whole weekend up on The South Downs.

A Brightonian Festival By The Seaside

Go Bang Brighton (2-31 May 2009)

Here's something we've got coming up this year in Brighton. We had a go at doing this last year and enjoyed it so much we're going to do another one in May.

We've persuaded some friends to come and join us for a whole months worth of basement parties and underground disco guerrilla raves once again by the seaside in and around Brighton and Kemptown.

The idea is fairly simple, we pick some nice venues for a month and fill them with music and people. Musically all bases are covered, disco, funk, real house music, acid house classics, cosmic, nu jazz, soul and boogie, the emphasis being on quality groove based sounds for the whole month.

The scene for this kind of music has been gradually building over the last 12 months since Go Bang Brighton 2008, all being well 2009 will once again bring more good times and great music to our seaside resort.

Representatives from Brighton and The South Coast's nomadic party and dj crews include

Calabash (Brighton Pride 2009) The Balearic Assassins Of Love, Norman Jay's Crate Diggers Association, Star Point Radio, Schutmm, 100Below, Heavy Disco,Disco Diaries, Civilization Of The Rough, Contraband, Keeping It Wheel, Recess Radio on Brap FM, Disted Twisco, Basement Soul, The Residents Association, Late Night Lounging, Inside Out, Gonzo Disco, The Jilted Jukebox and
