Tin Man - Blown (Original Mix)

If there was one style of music that has constantly created the most attention on our travels recently it's been our old friend Acid

From London's Queen Of Hoxton to Brighton's Greendoor Store the wobbly sounds have guaranteed favour amongst the dance floor every time

We're now receiving requests for even more of the stuff when we play it, especially amongst those who didn't have chance to hear any of it first time round

However there's a little problem in that it's the classics that are getting the attention such as Charles B's "Lack Of Love" and the fairly recent remix by Soul Mechanik of "Ride The Rhythm" by This Ain't Chicago, both thunderous tracks and ones that do a lot of damage each time as you would expect

So with this in mind and after a little cyber searching this track "Blown" by Tin Man popped up that caught our attention

"Blown" is a groovy mid temp number with a lovely swagger that should please both old and new acid lovers alike and most definitely will sit nicely in a dj set should you go down the acid route

Paul Rutherford-Get Real (Sinister Mix)

Did a little audio crate digging on youtube this weekend and came up trumps with an 80's acid house classic courtesy of Paul Rutherford.

Paul is the fella probably most associated as the dark haired chap that danced and sang next to lead singer Hollie Johnson as part of 80's super group Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

A talented producer in his own right Paul managed to release a few tracks outside of his Frankie Goes To Hollywood role, Get Real being the most famous one of note.

Paul emerged from the 1970s punk scene on Merseyside finding initial fame with St.Helen's band the The Spitfire Boys.

He later teamed up with Johnson in a new band which would go on to dominate the UK Singles Chart in 1984 thanks to a mixture of skill, controversy, marketability and luck.

The band disintegrated two years later and Rutherford attempted a solo career which was short lived.

In 1989 three singles and the album Oh World were released. Two tracks on it were produced by ABC.

Get Real is a sharp piece of house music which nicely captures the musical spirit of the late 80's acid house scene here in the UK.

This is coming to Hove (actually) sorry couldn't help it on Friday 23rd of October at The Old Market on Upper Market Street.

What happens is, we get treated to a film documentary about the Summer Of Love and all those that sailed that happy ship, then there's an after party featuring dj's playing music from those glory days of the electronic bleep.

Personally really looking forward to joining up all the dots and hearing those that shaped popular culture in our country have their say on how it all felt and what memories they've taken away from the biggest youth explosion since rock n roll.

Not quite sure how many bandannas and dungarees will be spotted at this one but the event itself looks fabulous and well worth a punt for the aficionado and curious bystander alike .

This mash up was created by our friend Bryan aka Flying White Dots in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the acid house movement that swept the UK in the 80's. Bryan has created a reflective yet timely reminder of those halcyon days past where we were all encouraged to dance all night in the fields, basements and warehouses across the land.
